How often do you set goals, plans, and dreams that surpass any adventure that you had ever done prior?

You have prepared as best as you thought you could: you said “No” to future obligations because you prepared to end that season; you gave things away that did not fit the next journey you were embarking on; you shared your plans with some friends and acquaintances out of preparation and joy.

You were looking forward to this move—the biggest move of your life—only to be denied.

No open doors on the other side.

Then, BOOM! Sickness comes, as you were striving to make the final finishing touches for your next journey. . . now you are reclined to your bed, fatigued, ill, and discouraged.

The other side is silent. Invitations are revoked. Nobody is calling. Nobody is seeking you.

Then, August comes: a new month; a new season; a return to your old journey, and you realize that even your current journey can change unexpectedly. What seems retired is still working.

After days of grieving, you surrender to the familiar. You embrace that your current journey is not yet finished. This chapter is still being written. Life’s predictability is unpredictable.

So, you move on into what is the “now,” the intangible, oft predictable now. The God of Heaven and Earth gives you one full day of joy, which shifts your mood and helps you to embrace this season.

What you were once fighting you have now surrendered . . .Who knows how long until your season changes?

Whether or not this season changes in your time, time will tell the season. Even if your season does not change, you will.

Breathe. Relax. Embrace.

Do what needs to be done in your current season. Your journey is not quite over . . .  not yet.
